It is that time of year again!!
Homeschools are required to send a Notice of Intent to their local Board of Education within two weeks of the beginning of the public school's start date.
If you are a member of Home School Legal Defense Association, they have a form posted on the Members' section of their website that you may use instead of typing your own letter. You do need to add the school year and the date to the form.
If you type your own letter, it needs to include the name and address of your school and the name, address, and age of the children attending your school.
If you use the HSLDA Private School Notice of Attendance form or type your own Notice of Intent, you need to keep a copy for yourself, mail a copy to the local Board of Education Certified Mail/Return Receipt Requested. You should staple all your mailing receipts to your copy of the Notice and file it with your other school documents.
